Interview: Celt Kennedy
Recently, 'The Big Moma Slayer' Celt Kennedy sat down with FCW webmaster Mitchell Jones for an exclusive one-on-one interview about FCW, 4Play,and Spud, among many other things..

FCW: 2003 saw the uprising of the UK scene, the rise of FCW and the formation of 4Play. 2004 sees the continuation of all three, with Celt Kennedy a huge part of all three. It must be good to be The Celt.
The Celt: Well, of course The Celt has always been a huge part of anything The Celt has been involved in. 4Play is proberly the biggest and best thing to be involved with. We don't claim to be best of friends, the only thing we have in common is our love and admiration for ourselves. So to answer your Question, it is GREAT to be The Celt... as great as The Celt himself.

FCW: Well I can see why you'd be a huge part of anthing you're involved in. You stand at 5 foot 7 and weigh in at 196lbs, with deceptively good looks and a good physique. You seem to be a perfect fit for wrestling.
The Celt: Yes I am a sexy bastard, so I tend to get my wicked way with most people....As for my physique, The Celt is a fat man and proud of it, which makes most people think I will be slow. Damn them. I'll chase them and kick their ass.

FCW: So you don't consider yourself to have a great physique after all.
The Celt: Of course not... I have no desire to get in great shape. As long as I can get the job done in the ring, I'm happy.

FCW: Well we all know you can get the job done in the ring. Speaking of which, how did you become interested in the wrestling business, and then become a part of it?
The Celt: Well, my family was all interested in wrestling. My mam and dad went to see the old British wrestling when it was at Belle Vue here in Manchester, and then my brother would always watch WWF on Sky. So I got into it through my family. I never wanted to actually become a wrestler until I watched the Mankind vs Undertaker match at the 'King of the Ring' Hell in a Cell. Mick Foley's dedication to entertain the fans and give his all rubbed off onto me and he's the guy that smacked me in the mouth to start looking into becoming a wrestler. I wanted to be Mick Foley when I first started.

FCW: Where did you go for training?
The Celt: Well I tried all over the place to look into pro wrestling. Couldnt find a damn place, so I started looking into doing Amatuer wrestling. I started doing it at the Y Club in Castlefield Hotel. I did amatuer for about 4 months and realised I hated it, so I quit that, then I read about Hammerlock training in Kent. I went on the summer camp in 1999, and then went back twice but it was too expensive for me to do every week. So I ended up at some other place in the Birmingham area.

FCW: What place was that?
The Celt: Well... I don't want to give them the publicity. Needless to say at the time they were a well-respected promotion and gradually it turned into a ego trip of a few people. So now it's the shits.

FCW: Well what happened after you "graduated"?
The Celt: Well, I never really graduated as such. Basically for a time, there was a very good old school trainer in "Judo" Johnny Brown who taught me alot. Then the company had another seminar and got more trainees. Johnny Brown left shortly after (for which I don't know the reasons why) but from then on I was just picking everything up as I went along. I knew alot of the basic stuff. Now it was time to get experience in the ring and infront of live crowds, so when I started doing shows, that basicaly to me seemed like "I fulfiled an ambition"

FCW: How did your arrival in FCW come about?
The Celt: Well, myself and Kev O'Neil became a tag team and were tagging all over the UK, so we spent much time on the road together along with Deacon Dispair, and I became very good friends with Kev. As a result, when Kev started FCW I was asked to appear on a few shows. At the time, because i was with this other company, I weren't able to do so. But as my frustions (and alot of other peoples) became more and more, I decided "hell, stuff this company" and I headed to this great place called FCW... or 'Fortunatly Celts Wrestling' if you will... lol.

FCW: How did your FCW debut go? And who was it against?
The Celt: Ahh crikey. I can't actually remember who I was against. So as a result I can't remember how it went...lol..I'm sure it wasnt terrible as I'm still here... lol.

FCW: I take it the wrestling business obviously has left you worse for wear over the years.
The Celt: Yeah, I've suffered minor injures all during my course. In a TLC match with Carl Corporate, I cracked a bone in my ankle, then a few weeks later in training he actually broke my ankle which left me out of action for a good few months. and also just over a year ago I had an operation on my shins as I was suffering from a rear mixture of shin splints and bone chups on my shin bone. Very painful. And that left me out of action for a good few months too. But I've actually been quite lucky injury wise.

FCW: Most of the FCW wrestlers seems to have been fairly lucky as far as injuries go. The only real injury worry as of late has been Spud, who broke his arm during an FWA Acadamy match against Paul Birchill. And all this just as the little guy was making huge tracks in FCW. Do you think his absense will affect FCW much?
The Celt: Well, yeah I guess FCW is a very tough promotion. If someone gets hurt, they suck it up and continue and don't moan or seek attention. To be perfectly honest about Spud, I think he is a disgrace to FCW. Here is a guy, that has all the fans on his side and thinks he is the bees knees when it comes down to wrestling. But in actual fact, he is an attention whore. Do you really think someone can be as so stupid as to break their own arm?? Well actually yeah... Spud is. But obviously the fans like him, there is no question. And how does he repay them?? He goes and gets himself injured, so they cant watch him wrestle anymore. Spud is a selfish attention seeking whore, who is bringing FCW down. He should do us all a favour and just quit.

FCW: Come on, thats a bit harsh isn't it? Spud went on in that match despite his injury and gained a lot of peoples respect.
The Celt: Well he never gained my respect. How the hell can he gain respect? He was stupid enough to mess up his own move. If he would have hit his Phoenix splash on Birchill (most likely to be the next big thing in the UK), then just think about all the glory Spud could have brought to FCW and to himself. If he would have hit it properly, he would have beaten the monster Birchill and everyone would be happy. But no... he breaks his arm doing his own move, and loses the match. In my opinion, Birchill should have ripped off his arm. Spud made a mockery of FCW and that means he made a mockery of me and you and everyone in our lockeroom. Does that make me respect him? No. It makes me despise him.

FCW: Who else do you despise in FCW then?
The Celt: Well, i think the question should be who don't I despise, as that will be a shorter answer. Basically, the only people I can tolerate being near The Celt are Kev O'Neil, A-Star Athlete (no he doesn't suck) and 'The Sensation of the Nation' Rob Hunter. Everyone else I cannot stand. The people I really despise though who are at the top of the ladder for hate are Spud, Jack Storm and Dragon Pheonix. Over the past few months, these three people always seem to be popping in and out of the Celts buisness and The Celt does not like it. I will soon destroy all three of those for good.

FCW: And how do you plan to do that?
The Celt: Well quite simple. Spud will not be a threat for the time being, apparently. And when I say apparently, what I really mean is "apparently" he is "injured" so he is milking his arm for as long as he can so he can avoid The Celt. At one particular wrestling show I almost ended Spuds career by giving him a piledriver from the top rope. But the guy still got up. I give him credit, but not respect. Credit because he's making me think of so many more sinister ways of ending his career. As for Dragon Pheonix, I like him. He's fast, he's very agile, and he will eventually become a star. That's why I will stop him from becoming a star, by breaking his legs so he loses his agility and speed. As for Jack Storm, well all I can say is, we both were half of the FCW match of the year contest. Jack has also been tearing the place down with anyone else who gets in the ring with him. It took me one helluva Angel Wings and 3 Muva Chucker Cutters to beat him, so he is a really tough opponent. For that, he needs to be topped and softened up.

FCW: Speaking of the Muva Chucker Cutter, what was your inspiration for that move and name?
The Celt: Well the inspiration for the move was that I wanted something original and something that I've never seen anyone do before. I wanted a fast, high impact way of ending a match and one that could be used from virtually all positions and situations. So I looked at the Stone Cold Stunner, from one of the most popular superstar ever, and also the Rock Bottom, again from another huge superstar. So I took the position of the Stunner and the impact of the Rock Bottom and there we go... a new original move that I've genuinely never seen anyone else do. No doubt people have, but I've not seen them. As for the name, well mancunians are stereotyped as to say "chuck" all the time, and because I think all my opponents are chuckers (or something that sounds similar), I thought I'd call it the Muva Chucker Cutter.

FCW: Wow. So not only is The Celt an amazing wrestler and great talker, but an innovator too.
The Celt: You damn right. I love to hear my own voice and I love to watch myself wrestle. I love coming up with all kinds of different ideas too.

FCW: Well I'm sure you love to hear your own voice, but we don't seem to get much of a chance, even though the moments in which you have graced a microphone have been impressive. How can you explain your lack of mic work considering your mass of mic skills?
The Celt: Lol. I'm a puppet. I can only use the mic when the boss says I can, as sometimes it might not be the right time for The Celt to tell the world and all that will listen what is wrong with their lives. Sometimes it will be unappropriate for me to make certain remarks. So basically when I get the nod, people will feel so much worse about their lives.

FCW: Why would you want to make the "peeps" feel bad about their lives though?
The Celt: Well all my Celtaholics are obviously having a great time with their lives, and they obviously have great taste as shown by supporting me. It's the people who like the guys such as Spud, Jack, Dragon, Sam Green and Morales... they're the people that deserve to be told how crap their lives are. They need to be taught a lesson, and the only way to do that is to punish them and tell them exactly what is wrong with their lives. As to most people the truth hurts. I couldn't care less about the truth. I know what I am and love my life, and the Celtaholics who don't care about anything, who are very laid back and very easy going, they couldnt care less either. As for the rest of the Celts peeps, they really are my peeps but they just don't know it yet. The cheers for people like Spud are because they're all sheep and they think that's the right thing to do. To be a Celtaholic is to be different. They know they love me deep down inside. I can feel their love.

FCW: Out of interest, how many Celtaholics are there?
The Celt: There are so many, that as educated as The Celt is, he simply cannot count that high.

FCW: Well no offense, but I've been to a number of FCW shows, and at each one, I didn't hear one single cheer for you. Only boos and hissing.
The Celt: Well no offense but you are clearly deaf. Next question.

FCW: No, hold on a minute. I was right there at the front of the Baggeridge Social Welfare Centre with Spindoctor (of WAR) and Goldy (of Wrestling101.com) at "November Reign" and we all clearly remember that Sam Green was definately the fan favorite over you. Do you think that maybe there aren't as many "celtaholics" as you'd like to think?
The Celt: Well... errr ...umm look, you were there, you heard them all clearly chanting the Celt's name. You yourself are a closet case'd Celtoholic. You were blocking their Celt cheers out because there are so many people like you in this world. You are all sheep. You do what the person next to you does. You cheer for the pretty boys. You like to cheer them because it makes you feel good about yourself because for once in your life people will accept you and treat you as an equal. You're all too afraid to stand up and say "MY NAME IS GIMP BINT, AND I AM A CELTAHOLIC." You've all bought the t-shirt and you all wear it to the C.A meetings.

FCW: The Celt has a t-shirt? Since when?
The Celt: Since you put them into print. Come on, don't play dumb with me. This was your idea to jump on the popularity band wagon of The Celt. You said before we started this interview "Hey Celt, we're thinking because you are so sexy and popular with both the female and the male audience, we'd like to make a t-shirt. I... err we can make loads of money." It was your idea. You're wearing a Celtaholic T-shirt right now.

FCW: I am not...
The Celt: Ok, ok. I see how we can solve this...

FCW: And that would be...
The Celt: You're nervous because you're sat 2 feet away from The Celt. Look... don't be nervous. The Celt gets this everywhere he goes. I am a human... more godlike than you, but human nonetheless. Come here, hold my hand.

FCW: Ok, I'd rather not. I passed you in the toilet earlier and I don't remember you washing your hands. By the way, I found this Playboy magazine left in your cubicle.
The Celt: Ok look, let's not go there. What happened before this interview is The Celts buisness. Now if you want to keep The Celts t-shirt that you're wearing, you better continue this interview.

FCW: Ok, ok. Moving on... there are rumours that FCW may crown it's first ever champion in 2004. Do you think The Celt would have a shot at this "title"?
The Celt: Well as you and all the Celtaholics know, The Celt is smutten with gold. I feel as excited as a cheap ass girl buying jewellry from Argos whenever I see gold. Now The Celt has held numerous titles and championships in his career, and every title The Celt has held, he has been the first champion of that promotion. So you can bet your arse The Celt will have more than a shot at that title. The Celt will have the title.

FCW: Well obviously, everyone who steps foot in an FCW ring will eye after the gold. But as it's only a rumour at this stage, FCW will continue in the path it's been on since day one - to bring quality british wrestling to Britain. So with gold out of ones mind for a second, what do you hope to achieve this year?
The Celt: Well if the rumours are true about the title, The Celt will be the champ. If not, then I just want to make people's miserable lives just that much better and make people's great lives that much worse off. My main ambition for this year though is to end Spuds career.

FCW: And if you don't?
The Celt: If I dont end Spuds career, The Celt will have to re-evaluate his own. Because if I'm even in the same locker room as him, it makes me sick just to look at him. And I can't be on the same show with him, he makes me that sick. So one way or another, if Spud is still wrestling by the end of the year, The Celt will not be.

FCW: Is that a promise?
The Celt: No. That's a fact.

It should be noted that just one day after this interview took place, FCW announced in Baggeridge that a series of matches would begin the following month to crown a new FCW champion.
